Winning design for traditional medicine factory in China
Dutch architects KOW and engineering consultants DHV have come up with the winning design for a factory for the production of traditional medicine in the city of Kunming,capital of Yunnan province in China. In addition to the factorybuildings,the project will include offices and a visitors’centre with hotel.

Hague high-rise wins global skyscraper award
Residential skyscraper block, Het Strijkijzer (The Flatiron) in The Hague, has been awarded gold medal along with the title ‘Best New Skyscraper of the Year’, in the EmporisSkyscraper Awards 2007. The 41-storey building, designed by Frank Bontenbal of AAArchitecten, was chosen from a worldwide pool of 634 high-rise buildings and took as it’s inspiration the iconic Flatiron Building in New York City.

Rotterdam: International Museum Communication Award
The Rotterdam 2007 City of Architecture campaign won Silver in the new International Museum Communication Awards (IMCA). The IMCA aims to recognise creative excellence in the museum industry as well as encouraging arts organisations to find original and inventive ways to communicate. The awards increase awareness of how museums, art institutions and galleries use design to communicate their brand values at both local and international level.
