1.      Am I qualified to apply for the Orange Tulip Scholarship Programme (OTS)? Is the university/programme I applied included in the OTS programme?

If you are the citizen of mainland China and aged between 18 and 35; if you intend to follow a Bachelor or Master’s programme in the Netherlands; if you have been admitted by a Dutch university, or is currently undergoing the admission procedure, then,

2.      How about if my university/programme not listed on the OTS programme?

In that case, you are not qualified to apply for the OTS university scholarship. But you may be qualified to apply for the OTS company scholarship, only if the study programme is desiganted by the company sponsors.

 

3.      What is the application deadline of the OTS for the academic year 2012-2013?

The general application deadline for the OTS is April 1st 2012. For some scholarships, an earlier deadline is possible. Please check the scholarship overview for details.

 

4.      Can I start the application, even if I have not been admitted by the Dutch university?

Yes, you can start the application. But please bear in the mind that you must submit the admission letter before the requested deadline. You are supposed to upload the scanning copy in PDF format of your original admission letter to the OTS online system.

 

5.      I have received the conditional admission from the Dutch university. Can I apply for the OTS now?

Yes, you are qualified to apply for the OTS. Please submit your conditional admission through the OTS online application system.

 

6.      Am I still qualified to apply for the OTS if I have already been awarded other scholarships (offered by Dutch university/Dutch government/Chinese government)?

OTS students are possible to accept scholarships offered by different sponsors. For instance, you are able to accept 2 scholarships in the meantime, one from a Dutch university and the other is offered by a Dutch company. However, students cannot accept more than 1 scholarship offered by the same sponsor.

 

7.      Is bachelor’s degree compulsory for the OTS application? I’m on the final-year of my bachelor programme and have not received my degree. Can I still apply?

If the applicant has graduated, he/she must submit the diploma/degree.

If the applicant is still studying in the college, he/she has to submit a certified copy of the statement of enrolment. The applicant is supposed to submit the degree/diploma as soon as he/she graduates from the college.

 

8.      Do the diploma/degree, enrolment statement and transcript need to be notarized?

Neso China requires copies with the official stamp and signature in order to verify if the documents are genuine. This official stamp and signature may be from a notary, school/university or local authority. Photocopies of the documents are not regarded as legal proof, and cannot be accepted.

 

9.      How shall I complete the OTS online application correctly?

Applicants have to visit the online application system (http://otsapply.nesochina.org/ots_stu/) to register their own OTS account. They can log in the system with the valid OTS account, filling in the application form and submit all required documents online. 10.  I took the IELTS/TOEFL iBT test, but have not received the score sheet. Can I apply for the OTS now and submit the score sheet a bit later?

Applicants have to submit their English language score sheet when applying for the OTS. Neso China suggests applicants to apply for the scholarship only when the English language score sheet is available.

 

11.  When will the scholarship result be announced?

The OTS results will be announced around May 1st 2012. Some sponsors may require selection interviews in April 2012. Winner list will be published on the website of Neso China (www.nesochina.org) in May 2012. Scholarship winners will receive notification letter from Neso China by both email and regular mail. 12.  Do I have to apply for Neso Certificate during my application for the OTS? Shall I need to send the same documents twice to Neso China for the OTS application and Neso Certificate application?

The OTS programme is managed by Neso China, while the Nuffic Certificate is verified by the assessment section of Nuffic head office in The Hague, The Netherlands. Please make sure your application goes to the correct receiver. Nuffic Certificate is a vital part of the student visa application, OTS applicants are therefore suggested to start the application for Nuffic Certificate as early as possible.

 

Since Dec 1st 2009, the OTS online application system has been operational. All the applications have to be completed through the online system. Neso China does not accept paper-based applications any more.
