Scholarship Offer

Amsterdam University College (AUC), a joint programme of the University of Amsterdam and the VU University Amsterdam offers a full tuition waiver for its 3-year Bachelor programme in the academic year 2012/2013. The value of the scholarship amounts to 34,000 Euros, covering the tuition fee of three years for the entire Bachelor programme.

 

The Scholarship is valid for

AUC’s Bachelor (Honours) degree programme in the liberal arts and sciences

The liberal arts and sciences approach of AUC means:

  • Opportunities to follow courses on a wide variety of subjects
  • Small international classes with personal attention and interaction with lecturers
  • Substantial freedom in designing your own study programme
  • Support and advice from a tutor on planning your study programme
  • A focus on far-reaching themes and real-world problems in science and society
  • Learning about the relationships between fields of knowledge, as well as building specialist knowledge in the subjects that interest you most
  • Advancing your personal and social development in addition to your intellectual skills

Application Requirements

  • A secondary school diploma equivalent to the Dutch VWO
    • For Chinese students: Gaozhong Diploma + Gaokao
    • It means applicants must have passed the provincial comprehensive examination (Huikao) and the National College Entrance Examinations (Gaokao).
  • Very good written and spoken English
    • IELTS overall score of 7.0 (with at least 7.0 in each of the four components)
    • TOEFL (internet-based): overall score of 100, institutional code for AUC is 5209
  • Good mathematics skills

  • Completely filled in OTS application form
  • Certified copies of obtained diplomas, with certified English translation
  • Certified copies of transcript/grade list
  • Proof of English proficiency: copy of IELTS or TOEFL iBT score sheet
  • A personal resume in English
  • Motivation letter (why you choose this programme at the College, why you should get the scholarship)
  • One reference letter
  • Photocopy of your passport (page with your personal information)
  • Admission Letter from Amsterdam University College (if applicable)
