Scholarship offer
Partial fee waiver for the tuition fees in Venlo for the one-year Master of Science in Business and Management (MBM), in cooperation with the University of Plymouth (UK). The fee waiver has a total value of € 4,600 per student, the fees for the University of Plymouth are not included in the partial fee waiver.

Content of the programme
Whatever your initial degree subject, the Master of Science in Business and Management (MBM) will give you a broad base of knowledge and skills in business and management that will enable you to develop a successful career as a manager. The overall aim of the MBM is to bring graduates of any discipline up to speed in the terminology, techniques and skills required to become a business leader. This programme is a Master’s degree programme fully qualified by the British Government and is recognized around the globe as a leading educational qualification.

This is a conversion course for graduates of any discipline, which prepares you for the world of business. No prior work experience is required. The first half of the course introduces you to all the key business functional areas, after which you develop the areas of interest for your future career by taking relevant electives and a project of your choice. The typical class size is 20 to 30 students in Venlo and ca. 50 in Plymouth
Additional requirements for scholarship applicants
A Bachelor’s degree obtained in the Netherlands, a UK degree or equivalent qualification. For non UK/European students, the degree will be approved by Nuffic. A further inquiry may apply. For non UK students, an IELTS score of at least 6.5 is required.
English proficiency:
IELTS (academic) overall band score of 6.5
The written part of the IELTS should not be less than 6.0
Scholarship applicants must meet the criteria above and be in the process of applying for the programme listed above or have already been admitted for the 2009-2010 programme in order to apply for this scholarship.

- A completely filled in and signed MSc application form.
- A certified copy of your original academic degree (or degrees) in the original language.
- A certified translation of your academic degree (or degrees) into English.
- A certified copy of your final transcript (or transcripts) in the original language.
- A certified translation of your final transcript (or transcripts) into English.
- An original report providing the official IELTS score (academic version).
- Nationals of the People’s Republic of China please note: A 'NESO-certificate' must be sent to Fontys Internationale Hogeschool Economie, Campus Venlo as proof of validity of your qualifications. In order to obtain the NESO-certificate you will need to take the IELTS test.
- An extensive résumé (curriculum vitae) in English.
- An essay (~ 1500 - 2,000 words) in English – describe your motivation, reason for choosing Fontys Internationale Hogeschool Economie, explain your scientific and technical interest in the master’s programme, describe your bachelor’s assignment and how you carried it out.
- A photocopy of the page (or pages) of your passport that give your name, date of birth, place of birth and the passport expiry date.
- Two reference letters in English: one from an official of the faculty from which you obtained your degree and one from your employer or another person in authority, e.g. your Bachelor thesis supervisor.
