Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) is located in Wuhan, the largest city in Central China and a Chinese famous “River City”. The university has three main campuses, namely, the Mafangshan Campus, the Yujiatou Campus and the South Lake new Campus, with a total occupying land area of 267 hectares.
WUT was merged on May 27th 2000, from the former Wuhan University of Technology (established in 1948), Wuhan Transportation University (established in 1946) and Wuhan Automotive Polytechnic University (established in 1958). WUT is one of the leading Chinese universities under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education and one of the first universities constructed in priority by the “State 211 Project” for Chinese higher education institutions. Currently, WUT has about 5900 staff members, including 625 professors, 3 academicians of China Academy of Engineering and 3 academicians of China Academy of Science. The University owns 23 academic schools, 8 state key disciplines, 62 Doctoral programs, 135 Master’s programs as well as 79 Bachelor’s programs. Besides, over 36,000 undergraduates, 13,900 postgraduates (including Master and PhD students), and 415 international students are studying at WUT.
WUT possesses 24 innovative research centers with international leading level including a State Key Laboratory, a State Engineering Laboratory and provincial or ministerial level laboratories in the areas of new materials, new energy, transportation and logistics, mechatronics and automobile, information technology as well as resources and environmental technology.

武汉理工大学是由原武汉工业大学、武汉交通科技大学、武汉汽车工业大学于2000年5月27日合并组建而成，是教育部直属的全国重点大学，是首批列入国家“211工程”重点建设的高校。
学校现有三个校区，占地面积4000余亩，校舍总建筑面积逾152万平方米，四座现代化图书馆藏书366余万册。学校现有教职工5900余人，其中，教授625人，副教授1219人，两院院士6人（含双聘4人），国家“千人计划”2人，国家重大科技计划首席科学家、教育部“长江学者”教授、国家杰出青年科学基金获得者12人，国家教学名师2人，享有国务院政府特殊津贴、湖北省政府专项津贴人员212人。
学校学科涵盖工学、理学、文学、管理学、经济学、法学、哲学、史学、教育学、医学等门类。现有本科专业79个、一级学科国家重点学科2个、二级学科国家重点学科7个、国家重点（培育）学科1个，省部级重点学科28个。博士学位授权一级学科9个、博士学位授权二级学科62个、硕士学位授权一级学科18个、硕士学位授权二级学科135个、博士后科研流动站13个。有21个领域的工程硕士以及MBA、MPA、MFA专业硕士学位授予权，有高校教师硕士学位授予权。现有普通本科生36100余人，博士、硕士生13900余人，外国留学生400余人。
