CSCSE-Neso China was officially founded in June 2001 by the Netherlands organization of international cooperation in higher education (Nuffic) in cooperation with the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE). CSCSE-Neso China is a non-for-profit non-governmental organisation. It is financed by the Netherlands Ministry of Education, Culture and Sciences.
CSCSE-Neso China is known as the sole official representative of the Dutch higher education sector in China, particularly supporting the activities and serving the interests of the Dutch higher education institutions.
The main tasks of CSCSE-Neso China include:
1. Providing information on Dutch higher education and study opportunities in the Netherlands.
2. Promoting educational and academic cooperation and exchange between China and the Netherlands.
3. Promoting the international mobility of students and researchers between China and the Netherlands.
4. Facilitating institutional cooperation between universities and institutions of higher education in both countries.
