The Nuffic organization is divided into four directorates, each with its own specific tasks
Business Support Directorate:
Task: to provide technical support, financial administration, planning & control, HRM policy and a user-friendly ICT policy.
Key ambition: to keep things running smoothly.
Capacity Building & Scholarships Directorate:
Task: to administrate international mobility programmes (scholarships) and institutional cooperation programmes on behalf of the Dutch government and other donor organizations.
Key ambitions: to attain and retain the position of best administrator of these types of programmes; to improve the user-friendliness of the programmes for students and institutions; to advise the government on scholarship and institution mobility programmes.
Communication Directorate:
Task: to gather information about higher education systems in the Netherlands and in other countries; to provide credential evaluation services; to provide information in the Netherlands about studying abroad, and in other countries about studying in Holland; promotion of Dutch higher education in other countries; encouraging the international mobility of Dutch teachers and students.
Key ambitions: to take the lead in working with the government, NVAO (the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders) and the sector organizations on the development of a single European accreditation area; to present Dutch higher education with a consistent and appealing brand; to improve digital information provision; to help work towards the point when Dutch students take a period of study abroad for granted.
Knowledge & Innovation Directorate:
Task: to conduct studies in the field of international cooperation in higher education; to organize and provide information to expert groups and consultation forums on behalf of higher education bodies, government departments and any relevant private bodies; to transfer our knowledge of all aspects of international cooperation in higher education through the use of courses and seminars, tailored to the needs of specific target groups where possible.
Key ambitions: to make a unique contribution to the debate on higher education, internationalization and the knowledge economy by providing background studies and analyses; to provide higher education institutions with timely information on trends and new developments.
