Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) is an open and research-based university with a long history and high prestige. In 1996, it became one of the earlist universities included in Project 211 and it was selected by the state as one of the 9 higher education institutions to be developed into first-rate Chinese universities with international-high standard.
