Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), is one of the Ministry of Education's 100 key universities. This university was established in 1952. It now contains 3 campuses, 19 departments and schools, 14, 456 students. SWUFE offers most of the finance and economics disciplines. It has three primary doctoral disciplines and 2 national-level key disciplines. SWUFE is located in the famous Land of Abundance, which is the historic and cultural city of Chengdu. Chengdu is a great place for studying Mandarin because it is part of the Northern dialect area. As an international metropolis, Chengdu is also acknowledged for its gorgeous scenic spots, comfortable climate and richness of products. SWUFE began enrolling and training overseas students in 1996. In 2001, it was listed as one of China's key universities, for enrolling and training overseas students. Since 1996, SWUFE has trained hundreds of overseas studfents from countries all over the world. Both the students and experts highly commended the quality of training SWUFE offered.
Programs for International Students
SWUFE offer 31 doctoral, 45 master's and 29 undergraduate programs. 26 majors are for overseas students, including Economics, International Economy and Trading, Finance, Insurance, Law, Statistics, Computer Science and Technology, Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Human Resource Administration, E-business, Chinese, Taxation, etc. Particularly, the university has set up the College of International Education, which is responsible for the Chinese training.
