Xidian University is a key national university under the Ministry of Education of P.R. China. It dedicates primarily to the electronics and information education and research, with an integration of a wide range of academic subjects covering engineering, science, management and social science. It was approved by the state to be one of the universities funded by project 211, a national program of promoting Chinese higher education.
Xidian University consists of 15 schools and it has 30,000 students, with 1,270 Ph.D. candidates, 7,363 postgraduates and 18,575 undergraduates.The libarary has an inventory of more than 1,500,000 books and 470,000 kinds of e-books. The university has actively involved in international academic exchange and other cooperative efforts. It has established cooprative relations with prestigious colleges and universities in over 30 countries. It is one of the universities that have been approved by the government to enroll foreign students to study academic courses, and it has been authorized to confer Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. degrees. It has also established a Chinese Training Center for Chinese studies. Xidian University is located in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China. Its campus has beautiful surroundings and complete facilities. Xi'an is an ancient cultural city in China, served intermittently as the capital of thirteen dynasties in history. It has many historical remains. The Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses has earned the name of the Eighth Wonder of the World. Xidian is the ideal city to study Chinese culture and history.
