GWDS brings a lot of investment and consequently the market of western China becomes booming, providing a great opportunity for application of latest scientific findings. Basically, in this kind of mode, Dutch universities play the role of supplier whilst Chinese market provides the demand. Technology advantages of Dutch institutions are requested to be transferred into profitable products. Therefore, it is a demand-driven cooperation.
