New Study in Holland logo launched

In January, Nuffic launched a new logo for its international branding campaign for Dutch higher education. The orange coloured rosette, which incorporates a number of icons and the words Study in Holland, open to international minds, will give Dutch higher education a unique image in its marketing activities. Tim Rogers, an international education consultant with the London School of Economic who gave a speech at the launch meeting in Utrecht, emphasized that the new logo will give the Netherlands a more powerful presence in the international education market.

Rogers talked about how he was originally rather sceptical about the international logo that the United Kingdom introduced a number of years ago. “At the London School of Economics, none of us saw the need for a joint logo. We didn’t want to be bundled together with other universities. Yet practice has shown us that the logo used to promote the entire British higher education sector actually enhanced our own image,” says Rogers. “It doesn’t compete with individual campaigns of institutions, but complements them.” According to Rogers, the United Kingdom had attracted an additional 75,000 international students within a period of four years.

The logo is the result of months of discussion between the institutions, the sector organizations, Nuffic and the Ministry of Education. The logo may only be used by institutions who have signed up to the Code of Conduct, which stipulates a minimum set of standards that institutions must observe when recruiting international students.
