Dutch Universities accept TOEFL iBT score of Chinese students 荷兰正式接受中国学生以托福成绩申请荷兰大学

From September 1, 2008 onwards, Chinese students will be eligible to use TOEFL score to apply to study in Holland.
This has been confirmed by Neso China, the official body to issue the Neso Certificate. It means that in addition to IELTS score, the new TOEFL (TOEFL iBT) is also acceptable in the application.
Being developed by ETS, the TOEFL iBT was launched in China since 2006, it reflects the overall language proficiency of the student compared with the previous TOEFL. It thus meet the requirement of Dutch Universities to recruit qualified candidates. And students will have more choice to study in Holland with less effort in language test preparation.
Students who hope to study in the Netherlands need to apply for the Neso certificate, which is an obligatory document for the Study Visa. Students can apply the Certificate at the same time when they start to apply for the university. With the acceptance of TOEFL iBT, the application procedure remains the same; students are also suggested to submit the materials at least 4 months before the beginning of the semester. Holland higher education has received increasing attention from Chinese students in the past several years. The amount of applicants for studying in Holland for the period 2008-2009 rose by the end of August to around 2500. This means an increase around 30% compared to the previous academic year. Along with the introduction of the new TOEFL, a further increase is to be expected.

从2008年9月1日开始，中国学生将可以使用托福网考成绩申请赴荷兰留学。
这一消息得到了荷兰高等教育国际交流协会中国办公室-Neso China的确认。这就意味着，除了现有的雅思成绩以外，中国学生也可以凭借托福网考的成绩进行申请。
自2006年，由ETS倡导并引入中国以来，新托福被普遍认为比以前的托福考试更能够全方位地测试学生的语言能力。这也与荷兰高等教育院校希望全面了解学生水平并录取优秀的中国学生的初衷不谋而合。中国学生自此在考虑留学荷兰的时候有了更多的选择，花在语言考试准备上的时间和精力也可以相应减少。
申请赴荷兰留学的中国学生需要申请Neso证书，作为取得荷兰学生签证的必要文件。学生可以在申请荷兰大学的同时同步开始申请Neso证书。引入新托福之后，Neso证书的申请程序没有变化，Neso办公室仍建议大家在新学期开始之前最少提前4个星期递交Neso认证所需要的所有材料。更多申请细节请参看Neso办公室的官方网站: www.nesochina.org
过去的几年中，荷兰留学已经变得越来越热门，引起了广泛的社会关注。截止今年8月底的统计，2008-2009学年度申请赴荷兰留学的中国学生已经达到约2500人次，与上一学年度相比增长了30%。随着对新托福成绩的认可，预计未来留学荷兰的学生数量将会有更进一步的增长。
