New Economy, Emerging Trend
Feb 03, 2012
The 6th Studying Abroad and Diversification of Human Resources Development Forum organized by Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE)
ABOUT THE EVENT
Since June 23, 2008, a range of activities has been set in train to review the development and achievements of the overseas study in China in order to memorise Mr. Deng Xiaoping, our late state leader, who encouraged the increase in the number of students going abroad 30 years ago. The Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), as a specialised agency founded on his initiative, with unique functions in the important sphere of international education in China, has naturally been part and parcel of these efforts.
It is most opportune that this year is coinciding with one major milestone of this Organisation: its 20th anniversary, a time for enjoying its development and looking forward with confidence and a sense of responsibility. In this significant context, CSCSE is going to hold the New Economy, Emerging Trend – The 6th Study Abroad and Diversification of Human Resources Development Forum on the afternoon of 28 February at China World Hotel in Beijing. It explores the effect of global growth of higher education exchanges and what impact the global economy might have on the development of international education in China both now, and in years to come.
The half-day session covers a wide range of topics, with particular focus given to the following themes: institutional collaboration and partnership, staff mobility, international student recruitment and developing globally employable graduates. Policymakers, government senior officials and top international education professionals will deliver keynote speeches, providing delegates with different perspective and analysis. Senior officials from educational authorities at state and local level, representatives of local and foreign institutions of higher learning, and entrepreneurs from international cooperation have been invited to attend the event.
The program is currently in the planning stage. Further details will be posted on our website soon.
