NESO CHINA ‘Holland Day’ in Nanjing (March 12, 2009)

09 Mar 2009

Netherlands Alumni Network in China (NANC) is a non for profit organisation for and by all alumni of Chinese, Dutch or other nationalities who studied or engaged in academic research in the Netherlands and now live in China. It is set up with the support of Netherlands Education Support Office (NESO) China which functions as the NANC's secretariat and is funded by 32 Dutch universities and higher education institutions.

As a part of Neso China, NANC is an important supporting force for prospective students making decisions of studying in the Netherlands. One of the NANC missions is to assist and support its stakeholders (i.e. partner institutions, business partners, the Embassy/Consul General, etc) to promote the Netherlands in general.

The concept of “Holland Day” has therefore been introduced, which was regarded as a very good opportunity to enrich the presence of ‘Holland’ in the places (especially in selected Chinese universities) we go, tries to put different aspects of the Netherlands together – the culture, the education, the business, the tourism and etc.

Many reputable Chinese universities are located in Jiangsu province. Nanjing University and University Agricultural University are two top universities, which have enrolled many talented Chinese students and have established fruitful international cooperation over the past years. Neso China ‘Holland Day’ will be therefore organized on the 12th of March at these two universities on the occasion of CIEET 2009.

On the same evening, the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) Nanjing is hosting a dinner reception themed ‘Dutch Business and Alumni Meeting’. All Dutch invested company representatives, NANC Nanjing-based alumni and Dutch-study students are warmly invited to meet and mix, while enjoying some Dutch delicacies prepared by Dutch chef Remco Vaatstra (Sofitel Galaxy).
