Two new programmes for Utrecht-Asia Grants 2009

In addition to the Short Stay PhD Fellowships for students from China and India this year Utrecht University (UU), The Netherlands, launches two new programmes: The Utrecht-Asia Visiting Professorship Programme and the Utrecht-Asia Seminar Series.

The Utrecht-Asia Visiting Professorship Programme offers 4 grants of maximum € 20.000 for a visit of a Utrecht University (associate) professor to one of the Utrecht University Partners (UUP) in China or India, or for a visit of a UUP (associate) professor to the Utrecht University. For the Utrecht-Asia Seminar Series 11 grants are available of € 15.000 each to organize a seminar with partners in Asia. For the Seminar Series applications with UUPs have priority.

Collaboration
Applications for both programmes within one of the 15 Utrecht University research focus areas (www.uu.nl/EN/research/focusareas/) are considered eligible and should be submitted by a Utrecht University researcher. The deadline for submitting pre-proposals is Friday 22 May 2009. The purpose of these programmes is to strengthen the existing collaboration between the Utrecht University and its partners in Asia and to explore and set up new forms of cooperation.
