New extension of the Orange Tulip Scholarship Programme (OTS)荷兰橙色郁金香奖学金项目延伸至本科课程

From the academic year 2010-2011, the Orange Tulip Scholarship Programme (OTS) will be extended to bachelor level. As usual, the quality excellence is still the main concern. Therefore, only bachelor programmes offered by university colleges and a selected number of final-year bachelor programmes will be involved at this stage.
We are very happy to see that two prestigious university colleges in the Netherlands – University College Utrecht (UCU) & University College Maastricht (UCM), have joined in the OTS and will offer good opportunities for excellent Chinese students to follow the top bachelor programmes in the Netherlands. UCM offers one scholarship for three years, in the form of full tuition fee waiver, which amounts to 24,000 Euros. UCU provides scholarships to two Chinese students, amounting to 20,000 Euros and lasting for one year.
In addition, the OTS also opens the door for students who look for final-year bachelor programmes in the Netherlands. Saxion University of Applied Sciences will provide 5 scholarships (5,500 Euros each in the form of tuition fee waiver) to Chinese students who intend to take its final-year bachelor courses.
Background information: University Colleges in the Netherlands
University Colleges offer the three-year Bachelor programme. Students choose from a wide variety of courses. In a sense they create their own individual curriculum. They do so within the broad framework of their concentration and the academic core programme.
In University Colleges, students are not impeded by the traditional boundaries between disciplines. University Colleges have so many courses on offer that students can choose to study in almost any discipline. At the same time, students can complement the discipline of their own choice with other subjects that interest them. Through this unique programme, students have access to a whole range of master’s programmes.
After three years at the College, students receive an internationally recognized diploma, the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science degree. This diploma enables students to enroll in master’s programmes all over the world.

荷兰橙色郁金香奖学金项目延伸至本科课程
从2010-2011学年开始，荷兰橙色郁金香奖学金将会延伸至本科项目。优质的生源始终是我们最关注的。因此，现阶段，只有大学学院(University College)提供的本科项目和一部分经过挑选的专升本项目(final-year bachelor programmes)被包括进了橙色郁金香奖学金计划。
我们非常高兴地看到，荷兰最为知名的两个大学学院-乌特勒支大学学院(University College Utrecht)和马斯特里赫特大学学院(University College Maastricht)已经加入了橙色郁金香奖学金计划。这两个大学学院向全世界优秀的高中毕业生提供高质量的本科课程。其中，马斯特里赫特大学学院将为中国学生提供1个奖学金名额，以3年全额学费减免的方式发放。乌特勒支大学学院则为2名学生提供第一年的全额学费减免。
与此同时，橙色郁金香项目也为计划去荷兰攻读专升本项目的中国学生打开了希望之门。萨克逊应用科学大学将为5名优秀的中国学生提供奖学金（每人5,500欧元，以学费减免的方式发放），攻读该校的专升本课程。
背景资料：荷兰的大学学院简介
大学学院提供3年制的本科项目。学生可以从学院提供的大量课程中选择自己感兴趣的科目。从某种程度上来说，他们围绕自己的核心课程，设计并决定自己的课表。
在大学学院里，学生不会受到传统的各个专业领域之间的限制。学院提供如此之多的课程，学生想学的任何科目，学院几乎都可以提供。同时，学生也可以在自己选择的核心课程之外，选择一些自己感兴趣的科目来进一步充实自己的专业学习。通过这样独一无二的本科项目，学生在毕业后几乎可以就读任何专业的硕士项目。
在大学学院中完成了三年的学习之后，学生将会得到全球认证的学位证书，他们将被授予文学学士或者理学学士的头衔。获得的学位能够让这些学生选择就读世界范围内的硕士项目。
