‘Top 50 Universities in China’ aims to contribute towards the development of higher education in China by assessing the organizational strength and social influence of universities. With objective criteria and a fair and accurate evaluation system, the ranking examines the overall strength, competitiveness and institutional effectiveness of the top universities in China. The ranking will provide insight into the development of China’s top universities, and provide information to enable the general public to form an accurate perspective on Chinese higher education and universities.
Due to data limitations, this ranking only takes into consideration around 80 or so universities directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education, to the former Committee of Science & Technology and Industry for National Defense (COSTIND) and to the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Renmin University welcomes other universities willing to participate in this ranking to submit data to the Institute of Higher Education, at Renmin University.
