The Orange Wind Heats CIEET 2010/

10 Feb 2010

CSCSE-Nuffic Neso China, together with a group of featured Dutch higher education institutions, is preparing for the upcoming China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET2010) in Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, Qingdao and Guangzhou.

The Holland pavilion consists of world top research universities plus a few well-known universities of applied sciences. 6 out of the 11 Dutch universities ranking in the top 200 according to the 2009 Times World University Ranking will be present. While also other specialized institutions bring new elements to this fair, such as the ArtEZ Institute of Arts, which is one of the leading educators in the fine arts, fashion, design, architecture, music, dance and drama; and the UNESCO-IHE institute for Water Management, which is the largest water education facility in the world, and the only institution in the UN systems, authorized to confer accredited MSc degrees.

With more than 1500 English taught programmes available, the Netherlands higher education keeps its heat among Chinese students. The year 2009 witnessed another 30% increase comparing with the number of last year. And the continuous raise since the beginning of this year shows that Holland will still be one of the hottest study destinations in Europe in the year 2010.

To make more people know about the quality of Dutch higher education, Neso China will launch the Orange Wind Campaign to conduct more promotion activities in the so-called second tier cities, such as Chengdu and Wuhan. Besides, students can easily find the “study in Holland” information through the Neso website, including a comprehensive database on which all accredited courses can be found. Also, a large online forum, “Orange Community”, has been created to become a useful inter-communication platform between the prospective students who are interested to study in Holland and those who want to share their experiences of studying and living in this beautiful country.

More good news comes from The orange Tulip Scholarship Programme (OTS). In total 21 Dutch sponsors joined in the programme this year, including 18 Dutch higher educational institutions and 3 Dutch business companies. The overall contribution comes up to almost 7 million RMB. Around 60 excellent Chinese students are expected to benefit from the OTS and follow high-quality degree programmes in Holland for the academic year 2010/2011.
