Holland Day event review

Netherlands Education Support Office (Neso) China’s first ‘Holland Day’ event in 2011 was kicked off by Prof. ZHANG Lianmeng, Vice-president of Wuhan University of Technology, on the morning of Mar 23, 2011 at the Conference Room 201, New Optic Fiber Center.

Wuhan University of Technology is a Chinese ‘211’ university, which has already established cooperation with HAN University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Thanks for the great support from Wuhan University of Technology and from local Dutch community, this event can be held with a great success with more than 220 students attended; very positive feedbacks were received from the participants.

This event has combined effort from the Netherlands Embassy, the Netherlands Board for Tourism and Conventions (NBTC), the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO), the Netherlands Education Support Office (NESO) China, the Dutch official delegation of the Province of Gelderland and Overijssel and the City of Arnhem, a Dutch invested company Arcadis which is based in Wuhan.

Interesting topics such as ‘Sino-Dutch Cooperation on Science and Technology’, ‘Dutch Higher Education’, ‘Sino-Dutch business relation and cooperation’, ‘Working for a Dutch company’ and personal life and study experiences were introduced and shared by the speakers and alumni.

In the coming months, Neso China will organize several Holland Day events in different cities/regions in China.
